USLA 2024 Conference Information

Equine Health & Safety Requirements at WEC

Each horse brought into WEC must adhere to the following requirements.

  • IMPORTANT: Documentation Requirements:
    • Negative Coggins: Current within 12 months.
    • Vaccination Records: Must include EHV I/IV and Equine Influenza, administered no sooner than 7 days and no later than 180 days before arrival.
    • Signed Statement of Health or Health Certificate: Dated within 14 days of check-in.
    • Trainer/Owner Health Declaration: New for 2024, confirming health status prior to arrival.  
  • Temperature Monitoring: Conduct twice-daily checks; log on the stall door chart.
  • Health Monitoring: Report any signs of illness immediately to the Show Veterinarian and Horse Show Manager.
  • Biosecurity Measures:
    • Enforce strict hygiene, limit horse-to-horse contact.
    • Sanitize shared equipment between uses.
    • Braiders, vets, farriers, and therapists must disinfect hands and tools between horses.
